Blue Hen in Eagle Rock

Santi | Feb 22, 200505:45 PM

I tried Blue Hen for the first time last weekend. I really had high hopes for this place. On paper, it sounds amazing: organic, vegetarian friendly Vietnamese food, only minutes from home. We had the imperial rolls, the pho ga and the curry. It could be that my expectations for these dishes are based on unauthentic food, so please forgive me if this is the case, but the food was quite bland. I don't mean subtle bland, I mean bland bland. Normally, I remedy this by seasoning haphazardly with the many sauces on the table, but there just weren't any. I really want to like this place. Maybe they were just off their game that night? Has anyone had a different experience? The tofu dish looked interesting.
