Recently on one of the chowhound boards, probably General, there was a thread asking which was the poster's favorite ice cream and the Blue Bunny brand was mentioned. I had never heard of it then shortly after that I saw that my Jewel store had started stocking it so I bought the plain Homestyle Vanilla to get a basic impression. Blue Bunny (made almost locally---in Iowa) turns out to be remarkable, like old-fashioned ice cream, smeary instead of puffy (which means a high butterfat content), and with a very creamy taste--- I think 'way better than the other brands J sells. Anyway if you see it do please try it because if this odd unknown brand doesn't survive alongside of Bryer, Dean, Edy, and Hagen-Daaz, J may not continue to stock it. BTW Blue Bunny is being introduced at a low price.
