On my way to the Marin Market this mornig I noticed food booths in front of the Ferry Plaza, so I pulled up to the curb and stopped.
Blue Bottle coffee is selling there on Sunday mornings. There is an excellent previous post on this coffee roaster below. This coffee is really unlike most of the blends in the Bay Area. He said that he finds so many of the roasts too similar. One thing to be forewarned about is that he uses a slightly lower temperature for his coffee. If you like scalding coffee, be forwarned.
There was also a veggie booth amoung the flower vendors and two bakers. Sparks which has a vegtetarian and organic restaurant in Guerneville was selling vegan baked goods. For me it was a pass.
Brickmaiden Breads who sells also at the Tuesday Market in Berkeley had breads and baked goods. You have GOT to try the sesame bread. I took a bite and said with much passion "Oh my". It stopped someone else in their tracks who had the same reaction. We both descended on the bread like a pack of hungry wolves. You can buy a little loaf for #1.50. The bakerey is located in Pt. Reyes. I'm thinking that Bovine Bakery was also selling there as both business cards were out. They had some great looking morning buns.
Really, I'm back to work next week. I won't be flooding the board with these market reports ... just my market du jour. I'm thinking next week it's time to visit Alemeny. Maybe I can pick up one of those live chickens ... right ... unless it leaps in the oven itself with a branch of rosemary in it's beak and two lemons under each wing that won't happen.
Anyway, if anyone has favorites at Alemany, please post.
