I didn't see any posts on this so I thought I'd share my thoughts on the event. Although there were only a few standouts at the overcrowded event, it was a great time. The crab cakes and corn fritters provided by BLT Fish were outstanding, Aquagrill offered a twist on oysters rockefellar by adding crab to the mix - very good, Ditch Plains served a crab salad sandwich that was delicious (they also gave out free hats) and Rain had a really inventive crab puff type thing. Orsay had by far the worst offering in my parties opinion - a crab spring roll that tasted like dirt.
The best part of the day was when we finally made it downstairs to the bar at BLT Fish and were able to rip king crab legs right off the raw bar and eat the delicious meat with our hands! At the bar they also served fries, mini-burgers, hot dogs and cup cakes - really it was a tremendously fun event and I'm looking forward to next year. Plus it was interesting seeing some of the local food personalities at the judging table - Kelly Choi is even prettier in person!
