OK - its that time of year. There are farmers markets everywhere, and every time I pass one I buy tomatoes. I recently had a great blt at a local sandwich shop, and want to try to make my own. Amazingly I have never made such a simple treat myself. I've got some good quality bacon. But here are my questions.
What is the best bread - a basic white sandwich bread from a good bakery I assume? Lightly toasted?
Lettuce - I am assuming hearts of romaine?
Other embellishments - just mayo? Maybe a little fresh ground pepper, or some sea salt?
