I purchased pastured extra large eggs from my local farmer’s market. Cracked one on a hot pan and got a very bloody egg including a coagulated goop that you see on top of a yolk. Researching this it seems that it’s not a fertilized egg but an attached blood vessel when the egg pass through the chicken before shell formation. Is it safe to eat? I cook my eggs with runny yolks.
