New Blendtec Wildside Blender

Well I bit the bullet and baught a new Blendtec Wildside Blender. I make lots of green smoothies and my Ninja Blender just didn't blend smoothies, well, smooth. But let me tell you, this Blendtec blends smoothies like baby food. Awesome. And unlike the Vitamix (which I am sure blends smoothies just as smooth) this blender fits easily under my cabinet. I was really dreading the noise level of the Blendtec, but honestly, I don't find it any louder than my past 100.00 kitchenaid blender, and maybe not even louder than my Ninja. Joy o Joy (because my ears are sensitive to loud noises). Oh and smoothies are totaly blended in just a few seconds. Almost scary fast.

It is a learning curb for me though. Such as. Don't overdo the frozen fruit. To much frozen fruit makes the smoothy to thick to blend. So when it cut off, I tried hitting the manual blend swithc (instead of the pre-programmed one) and the blender nearly flew off the counter. Sooooo, I just switched it off and left it about, mmmm, maybe 15 min to give the smoothie time to thaw a little. (honestly it was so frozen I could barely stir it. No wonder it shut down) Only had to thaw a tiny bit then I hit that smoothie blending button and wa-la. I had the perfiect green smoothie. The container full made about 5 pints of smoothies. So I drank one, put one in the fridge for later and froze the others to have for the next couple days.
And make sure the lid is on tight ands sealed. For it will make a mess if you don't.:o)

I was so torn trying to decide between the VitaMix and the Blendtec. The Vitamix has so proven itself to blending enthusiast. But I really wanted that bigger pitcher on the Wildside Blendtec and I wanted a blender that would fit under my cabinet. Thus why I gambled on the Blendtec. I also liked that the Pitcher was so wide. I can get my hand easily down into the bottom to get every last drop and for washing. And with only a double blade (that is not sharp) It is easy to work around it.

Yep I am tickeled to death with it. Of course it still reamins to be seen if it will have the endurance like the VitMixes have a reputation for. I have heard people say they have had their vitamixes for 30 years or more. (Of course I don't know how often they used it during that time) but no doubt those Vitamixes are a workhorse.
But for me and my needs. I like the Blendtec. Just wanted to give a little review in case others are interested. Mostly I just wanted to say not to worry about the noise. It just isn't that bad. And it blends so quickly, the noise is over about as soon as it starts.
