our first time to peach farm last nite. went with my husband and my parents, who speak Chinese.
-soft shell crab w/ ginger scallion
-eel deep fried with salt and pepper
-oyster on the shell steamed with sesame oil & garlic
-clams w/ black bean sauce
-dou miao vegetables in light broth
first off, they ran out of geoduck. disappointed since we wanted to try that and compare with what we used to have back home.
the sauce for soft shell crab was way too sweet, with very few soft shell crab in the dish. there were tons of ginger masquerading as soft shell crab though.
eel smelled strongly of dirt though was fried quite nicely. this was the only dish we couldnt finish due to the dirt smell. also, turns out this was eel from the sea while we are used to eating fresh water eel back home.
the oysters were huge though the garlic on top of it could have minced a lot finer. the taste was great.
the clams were very nice, as well as the dou miao vegetables.
meal came to $85 before tip. oysters were the best deal for $9. the eel was way too expensive for what it is at almost $30.
should i have ordered differently?
