Black truffle pizza @ Il Baretto, Marylebone, London

Very good thin crust, just the right amount from black and brown, cracker thin in certain blistery areas, with a crispy surface over the base. Crust might be in the same league at Franco Manco Brixton, will need to retry to compare again. Topped entirely with good white mozzarella, soft but slightly stringy and chewy, with a rich milky creamy flavour, and barely any oiliness and a lovely vehicle for a decent amount of black truffle shavings, aromatic, fairly sustained, but gentle, more of a mushroomy insistence that stays with time, rather than a room filling heavy musk. A nice kernel of bitter almond flavour, a nutty and tangy quality (truffle oil as well?) that finished the wood and earth. Not a bad deal for £16; printed in the regular menu, but I assume it's seasonal.
