Right black tea for Boba/Bubble milk tea?

maniac000 | Feb 17, 201610:36 PM     1

Has anyone had any luck on finding the right type of black/red tea for boba/bubble tea? (I've seen a super old post about using Nestea powder for it).

I've used Lipton, Foojoy Lichee Black Tea, Foojoy Black Tea, cheap loose leaf tea from Taiwan, and National Cup.

But I still haven't been able to replicate that boba shop tea taste!

The most "informative" homemade boba recipes I've come across are at the bottom but even with their recipes I can't get that awesome tea taste :(
