I just bought this brand new wok off Ebay.
Followed the instruction exactly.
First use blue scour pad with soap and hot water, I scrubbed off the factory finish. Dried with paper towel, set it on stove and heat it up on high so the bluish tint is all over.
Then I let it cool, wash off with only water, and then dried it, set it on stove on med high, let it cool, and wipe grapeseed oil all over with paper towel. Then I put it back on stove on med high until I see smoke. Repeated the process 3 times.
What are those black spots and sticky film?
Have I ruined my wok?
Please help, thank you.
