On the way home from today's lunch at Y-Ben House, we took a detour so I could pacify my ice cream/gelato jones. I've been wanting to try Marco Polo since I read about it on the board a couple of weeks or so ago and I wasn't disappointed in the least! We couldn't score any of those mochi-type dessert thingies with the liquid black sesame filling at lunch today so I was really delighted to see "Sesame" flavor at Marco Polo. I was even more delighted when I peered into the case and saw that it was "Black Sesame" - yum, yum, yum! I tasted the soursop just to see if I like it or not; not too much fruit flavor so I went with my original choice: Black Sesame and Coconut. Loved it, loved it, loved it! That great sort of chewy texture that gelato has plus that wonderful sesame flavor, mmmmmm. The coconut wasn't too bad either but I'd drive into the city just for that Black Sesame! Ok, enough redundancy for now!
In case someone doesn't know where it is:
Marco Polo Italian Ice Cream
1447 Taraval St.
San Francisco CA 94116
P.S. It's near Ming's Diner so you can go and try the boneless Rock Cornish Game Hen stuffed with sticky rice and then have dessert at Marco Polo!
