Black Pearl opens

After being handed a menu at the Grand Army Plaza stop, we decided to call Black Pearl last night for a pizza delivery. We were happy we was the best pizza we've had since we went to Patsy's near Fulton Ferry landing years ago. I highly recommend the Hawaiian pizza, which features delicately flavored ham, pineapple, fresh basil leaves and fresh mozzarella on a tasty, light crust.

I walked by the restaurant two days ago. It is a nicely decorated, warm space and I am looking forward to dining there this winter. Park Slope has gone from the pizza mediocrity of five years ago to a place that actually has a few nice options.
