Another Black Cake Question--

For those who have made Laurie colwin's Black Cake recipe--should it be made in a 9in round pan or a 9in square pan? The recipe doesn't mention--it just says use a deep-sided 9in pan.

We put up the fruit for it yesterday--in a few months we'll have (hopefully) yummy cake!
