Bistrot Lepic - Short Comment (Cassoulet)

Miata Girl | Feb 9, 2005 10:38 AM

We (3) had dinner at Bistroit Lepic last night. All of the food was quite good and reasonably well priced, as was the wine list. I was delighted to see cassoulet on the menu as I have enjoyed it all over France and in the US when it can be found. Unfortunately this cassoulet was dry, bland, and quite sparce of the meats and fowl that are usually found in this dish, not to mention a couple of very fatty pieces when located.

Also unfortunate was the response from the wait staff when I expressed my disappointment with the cassoulet, while also indicating everything else we had was just fine. Our presence in the dining room was obviously not appreciated from that point on, as indicated by an attitude that matched the chilly outside temperature.

We may return, but not for the cassoulet.
