My wife took me to lunch here on Friday. They were crowded, rushed, and the wait staff needs lots of training.
The food, however, was every bit as good as the rave reviews that come up on this board. We had a nice celebratory glass of Roederer champagne with our appetizer of smoked salmon over frisse lettuce and small red or yellow potatoes - simply dressed with olive oil and balsamic.
She had mussles in red wine - unusal for wine color but very well done with plenty of garlic and frites on the side. I had the pepper steak - rare in a muchroom sauce with string beans. Superb mixture of flavors, but a bit heavy at lunch. I was so full that I limited myself to rice pudding with brandied cherries for dessert.
All great and totally bistro. Bon appetit
