My husband and I went back to One Bistro in Norwood on Friday night and although the food was very good the service was outstanding.
After another staffer brought us a warm bread basket our server quickly whisked it away and replaced it because she noticed from our reservation that I had a nut allergy and couldn't eat some of the bread.
She then adjusted my husband's order of the cod special (with shrimp, scallop and crab stufffing, roasted potatoes and haricot vert) to place the lobster sauce on the side because she noticed a dish coming out of the kitchen that was smothered in sauce and was afraid it would over power the fish. She was spot on with that.
For apps, my husband got the calamari (which he adores from their) and I had beef tender roulades stuffed with boursin cheese, Portabella mushroom, and buttered bread crumbs, served with a sweet basil puree and roasted cherry tomatoes. The basil puree was a wonderfully sweet contrast to the creamy cheese and bite of the tomatoes.
For an entree I had cedar plank roasted salmon with root vegetables and mashed potatoes and they gave me the plank with my leftovers.
We were unable to make it to dessert although there was a special of tableside flambeed bananas foster.
Teh chef in charge of the cart made a point of stopping by every table to say hello and give you a good look at all the fixings.
2 beers, 2 apps, 2 entrees came to $64 before tip.
A wonderful way to spend friday night in the suburbs.
