Bistro 118 is now open in Salem in the old Taste of Asia space. Nice airy space, tableclothes, decent cocktail, beer, wine list. Sharing concept menu with small bites and large plates. We shared a few of the small bites and everything was pretty good. Pork belly with kimchi was the standout. We also had chicken liver mousse, corned beef tongue, Shisito peppers with bonito flakes, and potato bravas fried in duck fat and topped with cojita( the other standout). Finished with an olive oil cake with fresh strawberries. Cool new restaurant with a nice menu, will definitely be in our rotation. Hopefully it does well, it was dead on a Thursday night.
