I went to this "mecca" of culinary ledgend last nite with some folks visiting from Los Angeles. let me say it was one of the best meals I have EVER had in terms of "flavor & texture", but portions were a little lacking.
I had a small bowl of Tomato Bisque w/ an oyster in it.
And my entree was a piece of Halibut about 2inches or so square, and 1and a half inches thick. Served with 2
"new potatos" served halved. Although all the entrees look and tasted exceptional...I have to say that I left feeling like I was still hungry.
I am not a "glutton" by any means....
I am "Chowhound" who runs 6-8 miles every morning, kick boxes every other day, and rides 75-100 miles on my road bike every Saturday. So when I dine out, I tend to go for "healthy food", but I try to maintain a caloric input of say 2200-2500 calories per day. And I guess maybe I should have anticipated the nouvez' servings prior to my dining experience.
The portions aside, I thing the room was amazing, the service was awesome, and on a whole, it was really good! Next time I go to dinner at a ultra fine restuarant, I will grab an "oatmeal cookie" first!!!
But I highly reccommend the experience......
