Birthday on Valentines

shan | Feb 8, 2008 12:00 PM

Hi all... my birthday is actually Valentine's Day. I usually celebrate by going out for Chinese food because the set menus at most places for that night are insanely expensive and usually not all that good. This year, my husband is out of town and his flight arrives on the 14th around 6pm. I want to go out to eat, but I wouldn't mind some new suggestions on a place for the night that won't be packed to the gills. I'm pretty much game for anything from dives to fine dining, but I typically just like good food. I think last year was Wok on Fire down on Brodie because I didn't want to deal with crowds. The year before was Din Ho, and I think the year before that was TJ's in Westgate. Does anyone have any suggestions probably somewhere between the Airport and South Austin? I wouldn't mind something more adventurous, but fast Chinese is just never all that crowded on Valentines.
