I realize one of these is not at all like the others. I also am aware that very soon I have to book a reservation as they go up and quickly between 31-28 days out (excluding Contra).
My girlfriend is certainly an adventurous eater (though she does not like to and tends to prefer ordering a variety of items as opposed to large main courses. With USC, I assume we could split one main and focus more on apps/pastas.
We also both love natural/biodynamic wine, which all have a good selection of outside of Casa Mono. A lil worried with a tasting menu if it means we both eat the same thing but its a good price point and we absolutely love Wildair. Cramped/loud shouldn't be a problem as long as service is still warm and attentive.
As I have not eaten at any of these places, which would be ideal for 2 on a birthday dinner, with a max out of $250? The Menu at both Casa Mono and Estela look super interesting, though I have to consider the other 2 as we love Wildair and it could be cool to have a special occasion in a classic NYC restaurant. Any others I should consider, below 23rd street (both local and would prefer to keep it in downtown manhattan)?
