In true Chowhound style, I celebrate my birthday with a series of dinners with good friends and family individually instead of a big party. It's a great time to really catch up and focus on the people I'm with and also enjoy some phenomenal food. This past year, I went to Annisa, Veritas, and Tocqueville with my special peeps. This coming year, I turn 30 so everyone is willing to take me out in style.
Yes, I am on the waiting list for Per Se. If that doesn't work out, my wonderful dining companion and I need alternatives. We both are fairly adventurous and love seafood, so I was thinking of Le Bernardin, RM, or Oceana? Which one? Or am I missing out on something else for this category? Otherwise, I was going to also consider Daniel.
My best friend is a huge foodie and I was contemplating Devi, but will have to check my wish list over again. She has expressed interest in Jack's Luxury Oyster Bar as well.
Then there's my husband who is not as adventurous, likes good portions, meat, but is allergic to seafood. I was thinking Babbo, Eleven Madison Park, or BLT Steak. He has enjoyed Union Square Cafe in the past. I'm looking for a nice warm atmosphere as well.
My aunt in Westchester will probably take me to Blue Hill at Stone Barns.
Y'all's input greatly appreciated.
