for our last meal, in Chicago, we made the obligatory visit to the Billy Goat Tavern made famous by an SNL skit-(Cheezborger, Cheezborger, Cheezborger). not the original location that inspired the comedy but the same menu. the menu was more extensive than i expected and included breakfast items and hot sandwiches. order from the nice lady at the counter-try not to order in an accent. she explained the patties they use are very thin and double Cheezborger was the way to go. i ordered one of those and wife ordered a single Hamborger. no fries here-chips. got two of those. the order was ready quickly but they put cheese on my wifes borger. she endured. the patties were very thin and not very flavorful but the big issue was they were swallowed up by the kaiser rolls they use as buns here. a smaller size burger bun would work much better. condiments are self added at the nice condiment bar-onions, pickles, etc. speaking of bars, they are a tavern with a full bar in the seating area. amazing. a memorable way to end our eating in Chicago.
