Biggs is a slice of NYC in Belmont Shore. The food and especially the blackberry mojito are excellent, and the service and chic, understated decor are reminiscent of the best of Manhattan's tapas bars.
Unfortunately, Biggs is not for people with regular appetites. The name does not reflect the puny portions that you get (although it aptly describes the prices!). It's a nice place to eat IF you've got money to burn. If not, you'll either be thinking of getting a pizza afterward to get full, or you'll spend your whole month's salary at Biggs trying to get full. I guess what's most irksome is the combination of not getting enough food PLUS the few bites that you do get being overpriced. Most people would pay for good food in the right quantity, but when you're shoveling out 18 bux for a few slivers of chicken, it adds insult to injury. Plus, there's no bread, probably because that would make people full, which would defeat the modus operandi of the place to keep people hungry and/or broke. A more fitting name for this establishment would be 'SMALLLLS.'
