BBQ, Smoking, & Grilling

Big Green Egg great, but not the only!

chefdaddyo | Dec 12, 201611:19 AM     12

Got a large BGE a couple of months ago. Three weekends in a row we had excellent ribs. We used to pre cook ribs in a low oven (with dry rub) in foil, and finish on the Weber with coals and hickory chunks. Much better flavor.

This weekend we did steaks and heritage pork chops on the egg. A little disappointed the grill is somewhat further away from the lump charcoal. Yes, plate setter removed; grill correctly placed. I did not get the sear that I get from the Weber. So, the Weber will stay on the patio next to the egg. Long cooks: BGE. Wings, steaks, swordfish, etc: Weber.

I dare not post my opinion on the egg website, as I fear hidden explosives mixed in with the lump charcoal.
Anybody agree? Thank you.
