Just finished up lunch at the Big Fish Grille in Key Largo. Not bad. Not bad at all.
This place had been transformed into a quasi-restaurant/nightclub, but it tanked. Todd, the co-owner and chef at Calypso's, now runs the place.
I was going to order the tuna tacos, but spied a soft shell crab po-boy on the revised menu.
Excellent. BIG. I took half of it home with me.
Another interesting item on the menu was corn dog mahi. As you might imagine, mahi is skewered on a stick, breaded and fried. The young lady seated next to me ordered it and raved about it. Again, a huge portion.
Todd's creativity in the kitchen is well known in the Keys. I expect big things for this place.
They are open late, REAL late. 4:30AM. No wonder Todd looked so tired. Live music on weekends featuring some pretty good local talent.
