Spent today at the Big E Fair in Springfield, Mass. Some good eats included:
--Maple cotton candy at Vermont/NH buildings.
--Kettle Corn popcorn at Vermont.
--Del's Frozen lemonade (they also have watermelon) at Rhode Island.
--Lobster rolls at Maine
--Cream Puffs & Eclairs at the N.E. Center
One state was doing a full pig roast...can't remember which, it looked good though.
Dissapointed with the fare (hamburgers/sandwiches) at the Firehouse. We thought it would be good to support them but the food was subpar.
The midway has umpteen thousand food options ranging from standard fried dough to chinese food.
And o.k. I got suckered into buying a $20 clothing steamer from one of the fast talking demo guys, but my son burned his second $50 military shirt while ironing it so I thought this might help him.
Admission to the Big E is $15/person, parking is $10. We had 2 teen girls with us so it ran us $70 before we stepped in... Not sure it was worth it, but we did spend all day there.
