The Big Drive

Burke and Wells | Nov 21, 200205:19 AM     22

Hi Hounds. After more than half a year in Paris, it's time to go. It tears out my heart, for we love this city like no other, but we must return to the US.

Still, we're going out with a bang! Next week, we rent a car and drive through Europe for ten days, ending up in Florence for a solid month! Here's the plan.

Paris to Bruges
Bruges to Amsterdam
Amsterdam to Hanover
Hanover to Berlin
Berlin to Munich
Munich to Venice
Venice to Florence.

We're only in Venice for a day, but we'll be using Florence as a base of operations to explore all of northern Italy. There'll be days devoted to Venice, Milan, Rome, Bologna, Genoa, countless other cities.

I have a lot of research to do on this board, gathering the collected knowledge of hundreds of posts about these cities. I'll do my homework!

But if you have any thoughts about a drive like this, or a "one day in Hanover must-eat" that springs to mind, post a response? We'd be eternally grateful.

Thanks again, see you on the other side of the Alps!

Peter
