Big Burger & Salad at North End Tavern, New Rochelle...

We were in the mood for a tavern-type meal and decided to visit 2-year-old North End Tavern in the Quaker Ridge section of New Rochelle. I had not been since their opening days, and I had heard the restaurant had made changes to the menu. Well, we were glad we did. The sports bar environment was bustling as we took our seats at the bar.
I ordered their Maytag Burger with fries, while my partner went for the Iceberg Wedge Salad. When they appeared, both were large. The 10 oz. burger was stacked high with blue cheese and crispy onions and grilled to order. Good crunchy fries on the side. The Wedge Salad looked like it contained a whole head of lettuce and was surrounded with fried onions, Canadian smoked bacon and tasty ingredients. Both were easily sharable. A couple of Captain Lawrence IPAs helped wash it all down. Staff was friendly and efficient, too. There is parking in the rear parking area and in the front on North Ave. www.northendtavernnr.com
