This IS the time of year when people buy those big bottles of wine, especially champagne, with the biblical sounding names. Why?
At Sam's Wine in Chicago, it appears to me that there is no discount in the larger sized bottles, i.e., a magnum of champagne is exactly the same price as two bottles. I could be wrong on the bigger bottles, but I do not think so.
So, is there any advantage to uncorking one big bottle vs. uncorking several smaller bottles?
I am sure there is something so obvious here...
