Bi Bim Bap in West LA?

Jarrod | Feb 20, 2005 02:34 AM

Hey There, 'Hounds ~

I was wondering if anyone happens to know of a spot - grocery market, restaurant, or otherwise - where one could pick up bi bim bap in the West Los Angeles (including Mar Vista / Palms / Culver City / Santa Monica) area? There are quite a few little Asian markets around - smaller ones on Sawtelle (primarily Japanese) and a Mitsuwa (again, Japanese) not far from me - but nowhere I can find bi bim bap. My girlfriend used to live in West Hills, and when I'd visit her we'd drive to a Korean grocery store (the name escapes me at the moment) up the road from her a bit. The store has a refridgerator case packed with various marinated sprouts and greens (loved the spinach) and veggies, including pre-packaged bi bim bap (only veggies - no meat or rice), kim chi, and other yummy staples.. all wonderfully inexpensive, too. Can't seem to find anything like it in West LA.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance........
