A sad letdown for summertime food once again. But I admit I have high expectations. The chowder was pretty good, really, but not $10 good. I was hoping for the preperation I had seen Ms Lynch prepare when she was training and working the kitchen. Each bowl was made to glorious order. Also had the fried clams, which were fine, not good, not bad, just fine, which for me is disappointing. Just fried, chewy with a hint of the sea. I want crisp with a liquid belly pop of ocean/clam goodness followed by a slight chew. Started the summer with amazing fried clams at the Bite in Menemsha, and nothing has come close, sadly. Menemsha, not so easy to get to! The $22 lobster roll again was fine, but now wow here either. I would have much prefered the $9 sandwich on buttered scali bread at that place in Central anyone? Now that was delicate tasty lobster, cooked to perfection. But, I must say, the fries were wonderful which makes me wonder how the clams failed. It was all just ok, which is sadly disappointing.
