Bettola (on Amsterdam between 79th and 80th) has been posted about on this board previously, including briefly by me, but I have to say that my husband and I have become completely addicted to their wood-fired oven thin-crusted pizza. The pies are individual, and are enough for 1 person for lunch. For dinner, you'd want an appetizer or salad with it. The crust is almost cracker-y thin and beautifully charred, and the pizza itself is not crackery but very thin. The cheese they use is terrific. We love the margarita, but can't stay away from the "bianca", with mozzarella, parmiagiana, mushrooms and truffle oil. To die for. We keep getting the pizza so we haven't tried many other things on their menu, but the vitello tonnato is quite good (not the gloppy mess it can be), the fettucine with sausage, peas and fennel in butter sauce is very good (pasta noodles are all homemade), and the cornish hen baked under a brick is delicious.
