Bernardus chardonnay at BevMo

Ruth Lafler | Jan 9, 200305:18 PM     12

BevMo is having a "nickel" sale -- buy certain items and get a second one for five cents.

I'm looking for some decent but inexpensive wine for my hospitality suite, and the Bernardus Chardonnay caught my eye -- at $8/bottle when I buy two at this deal, it seems like it might be a good buy.

Anyone familiar with it? Any other good whites I should be looking at in the $8 and under range? I'm probably going to go with the Ravenswood Vintner's blend ($6.49 at Costco) for red, but a couple suggestions for reasonably priced Merlots would also be welcome.
