New Bern/Chelsea's

had a very nice meal here the other night. Crab cocktail and a trigger fish main course. I wasn't familiar with trigger fish but our server told us it had just come in. Being a fisherman and spoied by eating fresh fish, I try to order whatever is local when I travel. Fish was cooked perfectly (a pet peeve is overcooking) and good mashed potatoes and beans. Service was friendly, water glasses always full. Comfortable decor and seemed to be a good local crowd. 1 couple offered my father a ride when he was sitting on a bench after dinner waiting for me to get the car..:)

After dinner drink at Capt Ratty's..another friendly spot.

Chelsea's beat out Morgan's Tavern on a coin toss. Both were recommended by the owner of our B&B..Mrgan's next trip.

New Bern is a great city to just walk and look at the architecture and wander along the river.
