Berkeley: Oscar's - "When you are a classic, you don't need to reinvent yourself"

Oscar's is the exception to the rule ... you can go home again. The only real difference from my post in 2005 is the prices went up ... only slightly. The burger was $3.75 in 2005. It is $4.30 today

The quote in the title is from a faded interview framed on the wall. They mean it.

From what i can see they have no website, Facebook page or Twitter ... what would anyone talk about? The entire conversation about Oscar's on twitter could probably be summed up in one tweet.

This blog has some great photos and I thought the description of the burger was spot on

"The meat was what you would expect from your standard preformed patty, could have used a little bit of seasoning, but the charred edges from the grill gave it a boost of charbroiled flavor. Cooked close to well done, it still had a decent amount of moisture but by no means was it raining down juice. The grill toasted bun didn’t have to work overtime to sop up juices"

I guess you could say that Oscar's is the offical end of the gourmet ghetto. Once you get there, you've crossed the border.
