help me Rhonda. Old friends from LA are coming up next month and the best time to take them out is a Friday night. What's yummy, fab and not cost a bomb - plus we could actually hear each other talk? It's been so long that I've been out to eat (3 yr old and 3-month old) that I just don't know! Kirala i love, but it's too noisy; ditto Cesar. The Cafe at Chez Panisse is fine but damn, it's still a Chez Panisse bill at the end, plus babysitting $$$. Any ideas? We love all Cal and ethnic stuff - Cafe Colucci, Breads of India (if it's still good)... Bosphorus can be okay, but it's more the endless buffet and nice wait staff than the food, which can get a bit dried out. I've had the carne asada tacos so many times at Picante I could make 'em for you right now. Help this chowhound housebound mom, could you? thanks.
