I was just going to throw this into a post about hot cross buns sampled this week ... but no ... that cupcake is good enough to get its own post and recognized.
It is maybe 25% larger than the normal cupcake with a thick light frosting that is somewhere between butter cream and whipped cream. It was very pretty in pink.
The golden cake is light, buttery and the type of cake I like in birthday cake.
They also had chocolate, but I didn't try that. I think it was $1.25 ... or $1.75.
La Farine and FatApples still remain the best, but this was real, real close.
Tried a Crixa cupcake a while ago. While it was a lovely cake, it really didn't qualify as a cupcake, about a half inch thick, almost large as a coffee saucer and topped with an almost liquid buttercream. Delecious, decadant, but cupcake ... no.
Just realized I've been confusing the Bread Garden with the Bread Workshop. Another day, another hot cross bun.
