Benjapon's Thai in Davis

We were excited to try this new Thai place (local entrepreneur from Babson) looks a lot better than the previous dark Thai/Asian restaurant with brightly painted yellow/lime/orange walls and about 10 tables. Counter service with a handwritten menu on the wall...semi-open kitchen.

Anyway! If you follow the link below you will see that the menu is quite a bit smaller than most Thai restaurants. I had the drunken noodle w/tofu and he had the spicy basil chicken over rice. Quickly prepared and steaming hot, we realized that our food was basically the same :)

The green beans, green/red pepper, onion, thai basil were cooked in a clear, oily, spicy enough sauce...did I mention oily? I counted 7 pieces of tofu and he had 3 pieces of chicken...

The pricing was OK -- $7.95 each. The drinks are either bottled water/soda or iced Thai coffee/iced tea (free samples!)

We love Thai Kitchen on Mass Ave (tho not a CH fav) for lunch (soup, app included) so this won't usurp it. Perhaps this concept will work (fast-food Thai for people who aren't familiar w/Thai) for suburban office parks, but with so many good choices in the area...we won't be back anytime soon.
