I just discovered Benecia. Quite charming, with somewhat of a Normal Rockwell touch if you ignore the huge oil refinery accross the straight in Martinez and the sometimes wafting perfume of oil in the air.

However the main street there has some lovely shops a la Tiburon and Sausalito and quite a few restaurants.

Any recommendations? A search has entries over two years old. Menioned were a Mexican joint called Sandovals, Petals and First Street Cafe. Are they still good. Any recs. The Greek place (I assume) on second called Pappas was quite crowded at lunch. Any good.

Anyway, planning to spend some time touring the shops and could use good recommendations for breakfast, lunch or dinner.

Who would have guessed such a cute town existed?
