We are never steered wrong on this board...we discovered Fuloon thanks to CH and recently Benatti and Hungry Mother. Benatti x 2 so far and the scallop appetizer ( perfectly seared ) with fennel is amazing..as are the tortellini with ragu stuffing in a parmesean cream. It may be my #2 pasta second only to the egg thingy at Prezza . DH had the rack of lamb and still raves about it ..I did the pork tenderloin ( a large portion) on the first trip and enjoyed it immensely and did the fettucini bolognese last trip . The sauce was perfect and savory although the portion small and I can agree with CH's who think the pasta ( although totally home made ) as an entree will leave you hungry. The room is soothing , the service toward the end can be slow but with one person responsible for all tasks ..it is as expected . We had wine with each meal and the list is unusual and you can find value...We went mid week both times and the place was virtually empty..I really hope it is successful..it will be in our rotation on a regular basis .
Hungry Mother ( again mid week ) and no problem securing a table ( same day call) I like the room alot and had we not called for a table we might have done the bar which we usually do at Rendezvous, Rialto and the like. We started with pimento cheese ( total comfort food ) and a fried oyster ( delish) and for mains DH loved the catfish which was lightly battered and fried to perfection and I did the braised pork and enjoyed the perfectly done huge rib and I think polenta . All in all a great experience with very good service and excellent value..again we will return Thanks to CH ( Emilief) we are trying Scampo Monday and snagged a late table at O Ya later in the month ..Gosh I love Chowing ...and since we are city dwellers I am kicking myself for not trying Angelas yet...is it true that it is now officially BYO? Thanks again to all of you
