Ben & Jack's Steakhouse Review

My family and I went to Ben & Jack's last night. Upon walking in, we were greeted by a cute hostess and was very friendly. We got there around 8:15 PM and the place was 1/2 full so we were allowed to pick any table we wanted.

The decor is pretty mediocre. The flower seats must go! The room was too bright and not really decorated well at all.

The waiter we had was awful. He did not bring us water and the we had to ask for refills and condiments multiple times. I was expecting much better service from some reviews but ours was awful.

The bread we had was stale and cold. My father is a bread junkie so this was not a good first impression for him. We ordered shrimp coctail and bacon as apps. The bacon was definitely sub par to Lugers but the shrimp was delicious.

We ordered steak for 3 and my wife ordered Sea Bass. She doesn't eat red meat but likes steak places because the fish is usually good. I had a few bites and it was. Very flaky and buttery. Delicious.

The steak was very good. We ordered it medium but it came medium rare. It was so good though we didn’t send it back.

The sides we had were spinach which was good. I felt it was not as good as Wolfgang's but it is more spinanchy then creamy. The potatoes were sub par. I felt Lugers and Wolfgang has them beat there. The onion rings and fries were respectable.

We had a delicious Sunday for dessert. Can't go wrong here.

Overall, I would sum it up saying Steak is better then Wolfgang's but below the original in Brooklyn. Sides are worst then Wolfgang's but on par with Lugers (accept potatoes). Service was awful.
