Belly Lox - does it actually exist in LA?

Hi hounds---

I *really* miss belly lox.

For those not in the know, belly lox is a fattier cut of smoked salmon and it's salty (don't know if it's naturally that way) and tastes like the sea. It's wonderful stuff, with much more flavor than nova lox. It also has a much smoother texture.

It seems that pretty much everywhere else in the country outside of the New Jersey/New York area, people look at me funny when I ask for it. I'm beginning to wonder if it ever existed at all, or was simply a lovely childhood fantasy?

I'm in Burbank-- closer is better, but not mandatory.

(LEGAL DISCLAIMER: While I am aware that it's smoked salmon and not technically "lox", but that's not what we called it back home and that's what I'm calling it here! :-P)
