Belga Cafe review (Horrible Service)--long

Last night, myself and three companions ventured to Belga Cafe before heading to some election functions. Let me preface this by saying our decision to go there was spur of the moment. We arrived at 6:45 and asked for a table of four. The hostess/manager stated that the would not be a table ready for a few minutes and to have a seat at the bar. All four of us agreed that the decor was lovely. As we sat down she came right back and informed us that a party of four had just cancelled and we could have their table. She then told me that in the future I MUST MAKE A RESERVATION as they are always booked. I found this statement to be a little presumptious as they had just opend a week ago and that I saw about three two-tops available.
When we sat down they did not have enough menus available for our party so we had to share two menus at first. The waiter came over right away and asked what we would like to drink. We were all busy looking over the various beer that they had available so we asked him to give us a minute. Well, he gave us about 15 before coming back, and then it was another 15 before we got our drinks.

Finally our order was taken. We all ordered various preparations of the Mussels. 45 minutes later the waiter came back to tell one of us that they were out of the ingredients necessary to make the mariniere sauce for her mussels. They said that the lamb was excellent and that it could be prepared quickly for her as the rest of our entrees were on their way out. Well, they did not come out until another 30 minutes later and when they did I was served the mussels with W&G instead of the curry creme that I had asked for. At this point I just said it was OK because we had been there almost 2 hours and we needed to go. I will say the mussels, though small, were tasty and the lamb was very good too. However, that does not make up for the numerous "screw-ups" in the kitchen nor the snotty greeting that we were given my the hostess.

When our dissatisfaction was relayed to our waiter, the one entree of lamb was taken off the bill. IMO, more should have been done.

I understand that this is a new establishment, and kinks need to be worked out, but this was beyond the norm for any decent establishment.
