Beijing Star - Dim Sum

I decided to check out Beijing Star this afternoon for Dim Sum since the place has been getting some good reviews and it's in my neighborhood. We were handed the Dim Sum menu along with the "standard" menu. I did notice that all of the Asian customers were handed the pink menu. It was ok since we were more interested in the Dim Sum, but I'd like to check out that pink menu next time for dinner.

We ordered some wonton soup, shu mai, steamed pork buns, Shanghai dumplings, and Beijing spring rolls. All of it was very good, maybe with the exception of the spring roll which was just ok...I mean it was just a basic spring roll. I know we are fairly inexperienced when it comes to Dim Sum, but the items coming to some of the other tables (almost all Chinese) looked great and I really wish I knew what they ordered. The scallion pies or perhaps they were sesame pies looked good and I noticed them on almost every table. A few tables had some noodle soup that looked really tasty and they also had plates of beef or pork, maybe stir fried. I watched one woman order and it looked like she ordered off the dim sum menu, I just couldn't figure out exactly what it was.

Does anyone have other favorites or traditional items that they order? I really liked my food, but the spread on the Chinese diner's tables just looked better. I had dim sum envy. Can anyone point me to some dishes to try next time...does not have to be confined Beijing Star.
