Why are you so quick to dismiss dark beer not being a problem even though the Star K says it is ? Do you have some information you'd like to share that everyone else somehow missed the boat on ?
There are also problems with plain beers that are imported from certain countries.
To avoid any question whatsoever, there are beers under the OU like Coors ("made in the Rockies with spring water from what we hear"), Killian's Irish Red / Brown, Red Hook ale (pretty strong stuff) & Blue Moon Belgian-style wheat ale. Kosher premium malt coolers include Zima & Skyy Blue.
Carlsburg / Tuborg of Denmark also makes stuff in Israel under the OK & Chug Chasam Sofer.
