Last winter I made a couple versions of beef stew, neither of which impressed. Julia Child's very traditional recipe, and the Serious Eats one that has you broiling the beef and using gelatin and doing other serious-eatish stuff. Do you have a favorite recipe that is worth the effort? I had to spend so much time and money and just feel like things are ok.
