Beef Sate Soup

neighborguy | Dec 18, 2005 10:20 AM

I rememer quite some time ago reading about Sate soup and finally tried it at one of my fave pho places -- at Warden and Eglinton of all places. And I was hooked from the first sip. One size only, full of a digestible bits of everything, even tripe. The broth was all that it should be...spicy, aromatic, sweet, and not too salty. I've come to crave the stuff.
The other night I tried it at pho 88 and it was nothing like my usual. They took their regular soup and sprinkled this harsh pungent hotsauce in it. Was there even chili in it? Blech!
Any recs on where else I can get another take on this spicy specialty?
