I just thought you Reonites might want to know about this frozen custard place that recently opened...first frozen custard in Reno. Actually, there aren't many frozen custard places anywhere out west, are there? (I think its a midwestern thing....). Now, I don't know much about custard, so my comments may not be accurate...but I did find it very creamy and tasty. We had mango tonight.....very intense mango flavor. My only complaint would be that if anything it was a little too sweet......tried a few others that were good. Really nice texture.
Anyway, the counter girl tells me that business has been so-so, probably because of the out-of-the way location in a largely residential neighborhood....and they are just starting to advertise. I think we should all go give them our support! We must have been good luck tonight...the place was empty when we walked in and when we left there were 15 people in line!
Its on Mount Rose Street, between Plumas and Arlington. Sorry, I don't know the street address. (Its the old Harvest Bread building, if you remember that...... They have pints to go, and feature several flavors every night. You can have sauces and/or whipped cream and/or "fru-fru's" (crushed cookies and the like) either on top or folded in.
You could have Thai at Bangkok Cuisine and head up the street (west) for desert there!
