Beaujolais Nouveau 2014: let's go to war!

John Talbott | Nov 25, 201401:00 PM     22

So, disclosures:
1 - I'm a grouch, curmudgeon and have lived beyond my shelf life
2 - I hate Beaujolais and Beaujolais Nouveau and think the latter is a scam targeted at dim New Yorkers, Tokoyoists/ers and Hong-Kongistes/ers.
4 - I did not go out on my cherished friend Aaron Ayscouth's Marathon of BN last week http://parisbymouth.com/the-redemptio...
5 - I always buy a bottle this time of year and sometimes more than one for Thanksgiving because somehow it works.
So on Chowhound I've seen no word for 6 days despite last year's lengthy discussion http://chowhound.chow.com/topics/9263....
6 - Colette bought a bottle of the Chateau de Pizay today (without me knowing) at our trusted wine merchant on the Rue du Poteau and it was not all that bad; no strawberry/blackberry/banana bullshit the "experts" find, a bit normal - but hey, we have Mr. President Normal, so that was no surprise.
As y'all know, I'm a wine (and food) ignoramus so I cannot use words like leathery, light, oaky, etc., but this bottle was F. Hollande Normal.
I'm buying 6 tmrw.
